The Pap test or Pap smear is a screening test that has been very successful at finding early signs of cervical cancer.

In the last 50 years, the Pap test has helped reduce the number of cervical cancer deaths from 35,000 a year to less than 5,000 today. It is possible to improve the Pap test using ThinPrep® technology. The kit contains a broom-like device for the specimen collection, that agitates the cells in a solution while fixing them.

Studies involving hundreds of thousands of women have consistently shown that the ThinPrep® Pap test increases detection of precancerous cells over the conventional Pap smear. The ThinPrep® Pap test technology is the only liquid base cytology test approved by FDA (Food and Drug Administration) as well as by Health Canada that is recognized to be the most efficient.
